The Committees were formed in 2004 to assist all Primary Service Providers to ensure pro-active referral and ongoing information sharing is happening in high-risk spousal intimate partner domestic violence cases
Pictou County High Risk Protocol Committee
The Committees were formed in 2004 to assist all Primary Service Providers to ensure pro-active referral and ongoing information sharing is happening in high-risk spousal intimate partner domestic violence cases. Membership includes Domestic Violence Case Coordinator and representation from all six primary service providers including, Transition House, Victim Services, Police, Corrections, Child Welfare and Men’s intervention. (Crown). Members work with the Domestic Violence Case Coordinator to ensure all the goals and responsibilities of risk assessment, referral and coordination in high risk cases are completed.
Pictou County Interagency Committee on Family Violence
To educate ourselves, community groups and the general public about family violence by:
- Meeting monthly with information sharing
- Creating a committee to organize Family Violence Awareness Week in Pictou County.
- Delivering timely media releases on family violence
- Planning and implementing a schedule of presentation/scenarios for community groups on family violence issues.
